Bournemouth — Oct 20th 2009

A cosy rather than a crowded meting, due no doubt to the torrential rain that had come in from the West ... It was unfortunate that Solutions were unable to give a run through the benefits of Snow Leopard, particularly as WAMUG have been given 2 copies of the John wiley Portable Genius series for each of the 4 meetings. Welcome raffle prizes! In view of the very small turnout (our worst for over a year) it was decided not to hold the raffle, notr to have a discussion on Snow Leopard. We were however given a look at the features of the new iMac, out that day, with its amazing touch-sensitive mouse (though we did wonder how it woul be possible to swipe it with two fingers and hold it still at the same time), it's super-bright screen, with a very wide viewing angle, and of course the new bigger sizes. Other than that we discussed a variety of individual problems ranging from the best way of increasing the size of text in incoming messages in Mail (on behalf of an old gentleman not at the meeting) to the old perennial "Should I leave my Mac on at night?". The former was solved by Lionel, the latter produced conflicting schools of thought. The meal afterwards was welcome!

Next month we are looking forward to a presentation on Bento - see you there!
